Friday is Indie Game day at Games of Experience. Or, in other words, we spend our Fridays browsing the web for indie games, playing them, and pretending it’s work-related. Every Friday we will be spotlighting our favourite indie game, the game that got us through all the hard work this week. Our very first Indie Game of the Week is…

Mark Leung: Revenge of the Bitch

Mark Leung’s ‘Revenge of the Bitch’ is a single-player RPG that the creator himself describes as “an RPG gone wrong”. It would take you long, then, to figure out that this game is a parody on the genre. It serves as a wonderful example of how much crazy creativity is roaming around in the indie community.

The story is one of the most hilarious things about the game. I don’t want to give away too much, but this is something you can expect: a girlfriend with a monobrow and a moustache that turns into a bulldog when she’s angry. She eventually gets dumped and becomes the ex-girlfriend. Then something about picking ginseng, n00bism and a religion that sounds a little bit too much like scientology – but then they call it Vegetology. This weird story is mixed with live-action scenes and with 3D graphics which are, surprisingly, stunning. Not bad for a self-taught indie developer.

If you’re curious, check out the video below, or download the demo. If you really love the game, you can buy it for 12 dollars. One hint: just be sure to save the game. Once you’re dead, you’re dead.

    Agreed!

I love to see the indie scene develop like this. Love the humor in the game. This shows that the game industry isnt just the AAA guys, there’s some great talent still out there doing there own thing, discovering, playing with boundaries.

I’m definitely downloading the demo, it looks really cool. Nice find!
